Logos and food

Although I think logos, pathos and ethos can all have to do with food at times the one that comes to mind as the most useful in my life is logos. While thinking about logos, pathos and ethod and how they related to food I recalled going grocery shopping with my mom. I used to go all the time so I could convince her to buy me treats. Shopping with my mom taught me how to use logos effectively. She would never buy treats unless I could come up with convincing reasons about why I might possibly need ice cream or a certain cereal, etc. I quickly learned during those days that pathos simply wouldn't sway her opinion on food. I realized I would need a new tactic. Logos was the answer. When I could present my mom with several rock solid facts about a certain item I was sure to get it. For example, when in desperate need for some milk chocolate chips one day I convinced her we needed them so we could take some to our neighbors who had just had there first baby to show them how much we cared. A couple hours later I had delicious cookies, plently for me and my neighbors! Using logos was usually extremely effective when shopping with my mom and much more discreet than pathos!

Very clever! I'll have to keep this reasoning in mind as I persuade my own parents. I wish it were all this easy: "I need a car, because, well, I could get a calling that needs one!"
OK, sweetie...
